François Aubin
President

Francois is a cognitive ergonomics and usability practitioner. Over the last 18 years, he has designed over 100 systems, performed over 2,000 cognitive task analysis in the field and 2,000 usability testing sessions. Some of his clients are : Amazon, Ericcson, Nortel Networks, Royal Bank of Canada, Air-Canada.

After completing a B.Sc in Physics, he became interested in interactive systems through contracts with multimedia artists. He completed a Master’s Degree in Cognitive Ergonomics at Polytechnique of the University of Montreal. While pursuing his Master Degree, he researched human errors, 3D display, and Usability Principles and guidelines.

In 1994, after 3 years as a practitioner at CRIM, he formed Cognitive Group Inc. He provided consulting in user interface design and process simplification.

Over the last three years, he completed the development of complete end-to-end solutions for credit adjudication and compliance monitoring for commercial lending. He has published numerous papers on 3D display, wearable computers, input device, and task analysis.

He frequently gives workshops on usability, web design and task analysis and teaches at University of Quebec and Polytechnique.

Jean H. Paradis
Director

Jean H. Paradis has extensive experience in the management of engineering and construction companies. Over the course of his 40-year career, he has been director of SNC International (now SNC/Lavalin) and has held top-level management positions in other large engineering and construction companies in Canada and the United States.

He has been responsible for turnkey projects in the fields of energy, petroleum and chemicals. Mr. Paradis has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Montreal and holds a diploma in civil engineering from Montreal Polytechnic School (école Polytechnique de Montréal).

Daniel Spooner Frank Guzzi Frank Guzzi has worked in the banking and travel industries in Canada for over twenty-five years. He held progressive management positions at American Express in Canada, managing the Canadian large business travel segment and corporate services for Eastern Canada. He has extensive experience in B2B sales and relationship management in the Travel and Commercial Card sectors globally that can be easily applied to any industry wanting to develop its B2B. He possesses the education, experience and network to help Cognitive Group grow and gain market share in the Canadian market.

He was a former co-president and founder of “Le Bal des Enfants du Monde” that helped the Foundation for research into children diseases receive millions of dollars over the years and Board member of Junior Achievement in Québec.

He has over the past 3 years developed a thriving independent consulting business specializing in B2B sales strategies and business development helping companies in many industries improve client retention and sales performance. He has done extensive work in the pharmaceutical and health services industries over the past 3 years that compliments his travel and financial background.
